I guess your setting for “Front Page Display” has some static page selected. The setting for this field should be “Your Latest Post”
RomyI have a problem too with my slider. do I need to put my picture/jpeg in the page so that it will appear in the slider?

You need to upload a featured image for the page that you selected as slider.

HashI suppose it was well mentioned in the customizer panel. Again its 1900×600 or any size around that will be good.
