Using Total Theme (version 2.1.36) for site WordChemist.com. We are getting an error that seems to be related to the menu. If we shift to the 2023 theme, the site functions; returning it to the Total theme breaks it. We deactivated all plugins besides security to test it, but that didn’t solve the issue. Site is down — please let me know what steps to take next!

PS: I was hoping there was a place to include a screen shot of the error, but since I don’t see that option I will include the text of the error here. I’m typing this manually from the screen shot.)

    Hi,

On checking your website, I found the below error which is a server/hosting related issue. You must contact the hosting and ask them to increase the maximum execution time.

And from the error, you mentioned above, it states that the WordPress file is missing for which you will need to reinstall the WordPress again.

For now, i don’t see the error you mentioned but the error i mentioned below is present which is fixable by contacting your hostings.

Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 120 seconds exceeded in /home/customer/www/wordchemist.com/public_html/wp-includes/nav-menu-template.php on line 213

I can request the extended max execution time, but should it really take longer than 2 minutes to load?
WordPress is definitely installed, and is up to the most recent installation version. (The site does come up if we switch to a generic theme.)

I’ll pass this info on to the the hosting manager and see if there’s anything else to be done. If using this theme requires and extended load time, I will use something else.

As you are using the free version, it does not require that much max execution time. It can be because of another used plugins.

I’m using a paid version. I’ve shifted to a different theme for testing. I’m going to see if the menu works OK in it, or if it fails, trying to pin down where the error is.
