Create a new page with title, content and featured image. And the go to Appearance -> Customizer Menu. In the Home Page Section -> Slider Section you will see option to assign the pages. Assign the Pages to that section to create a slider.

You have uploaded image in the wrong place. This is the place to upload the image and remove it from the content.

ThanksNovember 28, 2016 at 7:56 am #1232AnonymousInactiveI think the issue is that free version doesn’t have many of the capability of the paid one. I watched few people on youtube. They are able to do things I can’t do. They don’t even show up in my version of Total. May be someone can confirm this. If you aren’t an experienced WP user or coder it is almost impossible to do what the design says you can do. I am a beginner and thus struggling with the theme.
November 28, 2016 at 7:58 am #1233AnonymousInactiveYou first have to create a new page and add an image to it on the same screen. Then you need to go back to Appearances>Customize Menu and use that page in the Slider section. It took me several tries but I got it done.
December 5, 2016 at 9:48 pm #1292HashKeymaster@savas may be you are looking the video of the Total theme on the themeforest.net that is why you are experiencing the differences. They both are different theme.
