    All pages that I create are being added to the menu on the website – including ‘pages’ that are simply components of the home page – slider, about-us text etc.
    The ‘auto add pages’ box is not ticked and the unwanted pages do not appear on the same page as part of the menu – i.e. they are not selected.

    You need to create a new menu and add only the selected menu. Please check this detail documentation on how to add the menu https://hashthemes.com/documentation/total-documentation/#MenuSetup
