Do not choose the blog page for the featured post. Once you remove the blog page from the featured post, it should work well.

HashThen go to Setting -> Reading Menu and change the number of post to show to the value 2.
This should work as well.

HashYes, it will change in the blog page as well. So i had said you earlier that the featured post is not designed to show blogs.
