I have happily used teh Square theme for 2-3 years now, with a static Page set as home page:
I would like to change the Home page to show the latest posts. I have change the settings accordingly from the Theme customization Menu as well as from the Settings>Reading menu with no success: the home page keeps displaying the static front page.
I switched to another theme to see if the issue was related to that and it is related to the theme as the settings are correctly interpreted by the 2019 WordPress default theme.
Any idea of what could be preventing the Square Theme to apply the Recent Posts as Home page setting?
I am running WordPress 5.0.3 with Square version 1.4.3.

HashTo achieve it, you will need to delete front-page.php file from the theme folder. Once you do it, the default blog page will show.
However, you can also create a home page type layout by assigning a page to “Home Page” Template.
