    Hi,

I am building a new site using the Square theme and would like to know if I am able to add the ‘Read More’ capability in the About Us and Tab sections (similar to how it is enabled in the Featured section).

When I ‘Select a Page’ in the About Us and Tab sections, the entire contents of that page are displayed in those homepage areas and I only want a portion of the content displayed to site visitors (note: I use Elementor page builder and have tried inserting the ‘Read More’ (i.e. CTRL+ALT+T) tag within the actual page itself but it does not work on those homepage sections.).
    Any guidance is appreciated, thanks,
    Chris

    Hi,

The elementor plugin will not work on those section. It requires some code customization to achieve what you said. And we are sorry to say that our free support does not cover this kind of support.

You will have to ask for paid support if you want.

Thanks very much for the quick response. To clarify, I have not been using Elementor on the Square theme homepage sections, I know it does not work there. I have been using Elementor to build the subpages and the text on those pages is what the Square theme appears to be displaying in full on those homepage sections. So I was trying to insert the ‘Read More’ tag into the subpage text so that it would only provide an excerpt on those homepage sections.
Please let me know how I would go about enabling that, or if that does in fact require paid support (and if so, where I can find information on your paid support).

    Thanks again,
    Chris

    Hi,

Adding the Read More in the sub pages does not prevent the full text appearing in the home page. The home Page is coded to show the full text of the page assigned to it irrespective of how the page is displayed in the sub page.

So it would require change in code and would be a paid support.

    Thanks

Thanks, I figured as such. I’ve created a workaround and will revisit a code change (and paid support) at some future point if needed.

    Thanks again.
